Piastri with a very strong lap before dipping into the gravel at the same point as Lando.
Yeah and thats with a tire which had done 2 fast laps already. There is quite a lot of pace in the car though, they should just save it for quali at this point.

Yeah it looks pretty racy. Was there a cool down lap between also?

That was a stormer but it depends on engine modes and fuel level. We have a reference from RedBull and Max was 2 tenths down on S1?

Would be interesting to have seen what Ferrari had but oh well, quali it is.

Apparently Verstappen was 2 tenths down in the first sector of his fast lap before the red flag.

Not a big deal but I always do wonder why everyone leaves the quali sim so late. There was long period where there was virtually no track running and you're near guaranteed to get a good quali run in. Can't imagine the track conditions change that much

Everyone was on new softs but we didn't get a proper comparison due to the red flag.

But - Verstappen was cleanly 2 tenths down on Piastri in first sector.

SAI and LEC started their first sector but didn't finish it, but it didn't look purple.

Norris didn't start his lap.

They do change actually. The later they leave it, the closer the conditions are to how they will be in qualifying. It's slightly more useful data than running earlier.

Oscar for the race and qualification - 1 hard, 2 medium, 4 soft. Lando - 2 hard, 1 medium, 4 soft.

What he said + the setup is still being refined. They are looking to see what they need to tweak for Qualifying so once the setup is at the best they can do in FP, they push it to get representative data.
