Looks like RedBull have failed to cure their balance issues overnight, even further away from the pace. Looks like a straight fight between all four McLaren and Ferrari drivers.

Can't count out Max when the going gets tough but Mclaren look like favourites especially with both drivers on it. What a turnaround this team has had. Love the livery aswell since they got rid of the blue .

Livery is pretty meh to be honest. Way too much black and littered with sponsors everywhere. Not a bad problem to have but at the very least they should consider adding in a bit more color.

We've already seen some 2021 quali times be beaten in similar conditions. First with the pole in Baku 2023 and also Saudi Arabia 2024. Maybe there are a few more, but these cars are getting really close to the 2021 cars in quali trim. I wonder how they would compare with more similar tyres. Obviously 2021 spec tyres wouldn't work on a 2024 car due to being smaller, but I wonder how the 2024 cars would do on lighter wheels (like 16 inches) with higher profile tyres.

I'm guessing we would be getting really close to 2020 performance. A 10kg-ish loss in unsprung mass and larger sidewalls would surely make a massive difference.
