Alfa Romeo began the 1985 season with their new 185T, but it was soon evident that the car's poor reliability and lack of competitiveness would not enable the team to score any points. The car scored a best finish at Silverstone by ending 8th. The 185T was replaced by an updated version of the 1984 car, now named the 184TB.
