Originally tractor manufacturers, Lamborghini built road going sports cars in 1963 and were taken over by Chrysler in 1987.
After supplying engines to Larrouse, Lola and Lotus, president Carlo Patrucco decided to create a complete package with the remains of the abandoned Glas project. Modena Team was formed in 1990, with Mauro Forghieri as team co-ordinator.
