How soon can Vettel win 2011 WDC?

Ferrari/McLaren would be silly to continue developing their 2011 chassis, they should both be working on 2012 now, the only developments we should see this year should be those that can carry over.

Based on the stats am I right in saying if the finishing order in Singapore was:-

1. Vettel
2. Hamilton
3. Button
4. Webber
5. Alonso

Vettel would win the title? Seems like quite a likely finish order ot me.

Button/Webber could switch; or Alonso could move to 4th and the title will still be sealed. Having said that we must remember Alonso is very at home in Singapore. He dominated last year; in 2008 although the race was fixed he was very quick that weekend; and in 2009 he got a podium in that dog of a Renault.

Last year arguably quicker than the Ferrari; one small mistake cost Vettel pole. However my point was that Alonso should never be discounted in Singapore. In a car that was some 8th/9th best in 2009; he got a podium.

I can't see the title race going on beyond Japan now, although I reckon Singapore is a little too optimistic, really.

Yea my guess is if Alonso is not on Pole he will be 2nd.
And Vettel can be damn sure to find Nando on his side down to T1.
Should be fun to see who budge first.

We are getting very close.

Alonso is in the right position to lose it and Vettel will need Lewis to jump Button and Webber to finish 2nd.

The only thing that's looking shaky is vettel's front wing after he and Webber colide into turn 1.

His WC hopes will run of like a thief into the night. Just like Webber's last year.

well naturally if you are the youngest in one thing you'll be youngest in the rest, once in a good car.
He's not the least experienced champion or points scorer, though he may be the youngest. Race starts tell the real picture.

Anyway will he do it tomorrow, or will he be denied by the desperados?

I honestly don't think there are "desperadoes" anymore now. They've all pretty much resigned to the fact that he's won it.
