Is Mclaren putting their bet of Button now?

I think the pressure if not on Alonso to deliver, but the team.

Yes but this is about building a brand image; not on track performances. For example. Who comes to mind earlier when you say "Ferrari?" Schumacher still comes up first.

@donskar: Thanks for a valuable post, but unfortunately that didn't to much.

There are rumours Button's contract is for 5 years, so obviously they believe in him, but it also doesn't mean they do so more than in Lewis Hamilton. McLaren have always believed in equal drivers, so they'll probably stick to it. Speculating they won't is not going to get us anywhere, is it?

I will allow a thread to discuss Button's signing and his contract, if there is any need to it, but this thread didn't start well, and ends before it turns out even worse than it started. Sorry.
