petrov scored not many points after Heidfelds departure ,I think he is a typical team driver only looking at his teammate and adjusting his level of commitment to his direct opponent/enemy..
to give both drivers the axe is only logical after all..

Read that somewhere? Got anything official to back that statement?

There was a headline during the season that Red Bull is now considered the Renault 'factory' team, and not GenniiLotus, IIRC.

Before Mercedes GP Mclaren was the 'factory' team, and Force India with the Mercedes engine was the customer team now equivelant to Renault.

Renault has always been two distinct factories anyways, communicating well with each other. One in Vichy France, the other in Enstone (not Cologne, right Fil? ).

Cologne was the old Toyota getup. Enstone is the F1 team which is now run by Boullier; and Viry-Chatillon is the engine arm (which I believe you meant to say, rather than Vichy )

WHAT????

Put it this way – he's the only driver I've ever seen crash *behind* the place where he started.

Sorry, was stretching the truth a little, but I mean this (not the crash the video focuses on, the one in the background off the line):

He's definitely not the only driver to have a crash like that.

Any driver that can match heidfeld is a decent driver.

Martin Brundle just twittered he's expecting Petrov to go to Caterham.

That would be unexpected.
Well, at least he seems to stay on radar with many teams so far.

He was the most improved driver by a mile compared to last year. Caterham sounds like a good fit. I think he'd do well there. Kovalainen will be a good match for him. Trulli seemed to fall back this year. He blamed the steering feedback, but I don't know the details.

Is he good enough to beat the ex-torro roso boys to a contract (race seat or otherwise)?
I've found a way of ducting exhaust right to the diffuser edge like in 2011 and created a new wheel fastener that could allow sub 2 second pitstops see them here --> My 2013 F1 Concept Project

Not terribly unexpected. Caterham seems to be open for any driver other than Trulli, and their supplied by Renault. Petrov raced for Renault, has some money, has talent. It wouldn't surprise me to see him race there. I'm sort of expecting Trulli to race another year, however, and then in 2013, I expect Caterham to bring up one of their drivers in their Young Drivers academy.
