Ways to watch f1?

anyone here anything about pay per view F1 in the states yet?

Thanks for the info. I work weird hours and sometimes I'm at work during the races. I wish my satellite provider would stream SpeedTV.

There are going to be lots of people in the UK with the same problem after the unfortunate decision of the BBC to only broadcast half the races live. I think the FIA should have given more consideration before signing the Sky deal, as I doubt many casual F1 fans would be willing to pay Sky just to watch half of the races. I don't expect to get anything for free, I consider the TV license fee I already pay should be enough to allow me the privilege to watch something the FIA, Media, Teams and Drivers, Sponsors and pretty much everyone else involved makes millions out of. Streaming to PC, PS3/Xbox, PS Vita, ipads and iphones should have been available by now, at a pay per view basis. Why should I pay the whole Sky package if I can watch half of the races on the BBC, for which I already pay? And why should I have to pay anything more than people in other countries to watch the same programme?

I will never understand why the most technologically advanced (supposedly. LMP's have a say in that) motorsport in the world can't get their act together and just offer a freaking stream subscription on their website. I would seriously pay good money for a high quality stream, especially if I had the ability to watch previous races. The technology is available and easy enough for children to use. WHY?

Probably because they can make more money for less effort by selling the broadcast rights to someone else. That person then has all of the hassle of making sure the race is broadcast whilst Bernie's company just has to count the cash.

isn't there a live audio stream from James Allen and Alguesuari? Or do I have that wrong? I may want to pull that up and listen to it over the SpeedTV broadcast.

James Allen and Alguersuari are on Radio 5 live covering all the races, yes. Not quite the same as watching it on tele though.

I've managed to find a buddy with Sky who will let me use his login to watch online. Which reminds me, I have to test that before this weekend.

The Sky coverage does look brilliant if the season preview is anything to go by. Good enough for me to almost wish I had Sky, but I have to say supporting Mr. Murdoch indirectly is as far as I would like to go.

It would be practically trivial to put a link on the F1 website that says "WATCH NOW! LIVE! HD! WOO!". You click it, it opens up your region's broadcast stream. Charge X dollars, include all the commercials, surround it with ads, everyone gets their money. Even at ten bucks a race it would be a bargain.

that there will be torrents availiable!!! It was so great to be able to watch it when it was convienient, the BBC did an amazing job, means so much to me.

If you cannot afford Sky simply look for the nearest pub or bar that is committed to run Sky whenever F1 is on. I bet there will be a lot of them in the UK. There are many in Germany and they are popular with those people who hate adds during their races but cannot afford to have a personal Sky subscription. We know that publicans in the UK have even purchased foreign cheaper Sky licenses.
