Marussia??? A team where you have pay-drivers & very little budget. You dont have the budget to finish a car in time, get people to even research possible innovations,no mopney to pay for KERS or updates every 2 races. No money for yourself. And Pat Symmonds is a joke & has been a non-entity since Renault. His cars did nothing. Bob Bell was behind those winning cars.

I would very dissapointed. For me Marussia should be thrown away & should not even be on the grid. Same with HRT,both atleast recently I feel HRT will do better than Marussia. F1 is better than these no-bodies.

Lotus or Williams would have made much more sense

I doubt he will join marussia. If he does it will be for money, and I think Key is clever and young enough to realise he is in this game for the long term, his cash will come.
Also how much more could marussia afford to pay him than Sauber?

Just doesn't add up for me. Although its not impossible.

I'd think Marussia to be far more likely than MGP though. There are times when engineers love the challenge of problem solving; and maybe he saw an opportunity for that at Marussia.

He could do all the above at Sauber. And to his own tune without Pat symmonds in the way.

Yes; but your comment rings true for just about every F1 team around. But he did leave Sauber.

Cheers for the heads up that Key left Sauber...

I'm of the opinion that a Midfield running teams TD doesn't leave for perennial back markers very often.
Mid contract?
Marussia can barely attract sponsorship ... Let alone James Key.

Not impossible... Highly improbable. My 2 cents.

My gut feel says either reunited with Gascoyne at Caterham or being groomed as Newey's successor with Red Bull.

my pleasure.

Where else would he go? I can only really see Williams or maybe Ferrari - both which are undergoing technical restructuring.

For me, as I said... When I posted the thread of James Key leaving Sauber .... Mclaren or Mercedes.

McLaren would be ideal for Key. And Key good for Mclaren. Symbiotic....p

I think Mercedes has loaded up enough technical boffins for a a season or three.

He said he goes back to england so that cannot be Ferrari.
Rumors says that McLaren could loose 2 of their main men: Goss & Oatley. If it is true, it could also be a possibility for Key.

Or Sam Michael. I haven't heard of Goss and Oatley though; where did that rumor come from? Where too, allegedly? I didn't read any of the James Key press releases so I didn't hear about returning to England.
