They did test the 2009 slick tyres on a few 2008 cars. I remember Valentino Rossi doing a testing session on slicks in the F2008:
It looks great.
I really hate this era of cars – they look more like weapons, with the number of sharp bits sticking out of them than cars. Loathed as I am to admit it, last year's Ferrari is pretty high up on the beautiful F1 car scale to me – it's from the outside a simple design, it's clean, it's not cluttered with stuff all over it, and it's (for the most part) quick.
Agree. These 2000+ cars look like something from a Transformer movie. Can not match the mechanical purity of the 1960s and 70s era cars.

I am a huge Ferrari fan, and I love the F2008, F60, and F2004, but the best looking car has to be the BAR 006.

The 2008 cars work for me. Specifically the BMW and Ferrari as have already been posted. Just makes me think if the old regulations continued how the cars would look today!

I quite like this but Mclaren's MP20 and 21 are also worthy of a mention.

To whoever said F248...

Here it is, in Fiorano, the 16th of January of 2006. For its shakedown, the F248 had no stickers, original Rosso Corsa (the one we now see is a Marboro-ized version) and, above all, a black rear wing. If only someone had painted the front wing black too... Also, it could have been the latter, more curvy, front wing.

I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

The above is a thing of beauty.

The F2008 in a more current livery with the white on the wings looks really good too, as seen in Qatar.

I would need beer goggles to appreciate that boxy old front wing  BTW I prefer the old Ferrari livery with the bar code

It has got to be the Super Aguri SA07, yes it was a reincarnation but it was so beautiful. And I have massive respect for what they achieved with such a little team :)

But this is also a beautiful car. The 2003 Jordan :)
