That Singapore track is just so boring! I have yet to enjoy a race held there, it offers nothing for me as a great track. (personally)Lorenzo_Bandini wrote:Why nobody talk about Singapore 2008 ?
Massa's lap was one of the best of the ten last years. With a car with much fuel onboard than others, he put 6 tenth to Hamilton who was 2nd, 8 tenths to Raikkonen who was 3rd, one full second to Kubica and Kovalainen.

Brundle says Nico braked later than MS. Otherwise, that was very interesting. Would be good if you could do that break down for other laps as well.illario wrote:Nico already starts the lap ahead(this is great considering that in other videos one cant notice the speed with which they enter the last corner).
At the last sign(on the left) before entrying the 1 corner(0.11s in the video) Nico is almost 0.100s ahead.
At the end of 1 corner Schumi catches him(0.21s in the video). At(0.23 in the video) entrying 2 corner Schumi has gone faster than Nico.
Nico enters the corner slower but gets much much better exit an later apex(see the advertising on the grass on the left side of the corner sec 0.24 in the video, Schumi is already in the corner Nico will come later).
At (0.24 in the video) Schumi already is out of line, Nico is still in the corner and much better placed, meaning that Schumi is faster(but that doesent mean that it is a better lap).
0.25s in the video Nico is still in the corner Schumi is out.
and my last point(0.30 in the video) nico is on DRS, Schumi is on DRS on 0.33 in the video(can you imagine that). Basically what happens is that in 3-rd corner Nico does his miracle and than continues(editors of the video also stop the video).
At(1.07 in the video Nico is on DRS), Schumi oversteers at(1.06) an on DRS at (1.08). Schumi oversteers again at 1.22. Schumi again at 1.27 oversteers. Not untill 1.28 that Schumi normalizes his car.
At 1.30 they both go on DRS at the same time althou Schumi is still in the corner. At 1.35 again Schumi oversteers alittle.
At the hearpin (last sign on the left 50m sign; 1.48 in the video Schumi closes down).
Earlyer braking for Nico puts him at better apex--exit.
At 1.53 again Schumi does two small corections on the exit.
At 1.53 they are almost equal(look the ending of white and red thing's i dont know how they'r caled).
At 1.57 Nico is already ahead. At 1.58 Nico is on the corner.
NOTE: i cant make the difference between DRS and KERS, which is very bad for my conclusions., but if i'am aloud i would conclude that Nico had more down-force.
No complaints, that was class high speed driving by MS.scuderiafan wrote:I see a lot of qualy laps on here. Personally, this is my all-time favorite exhibition of driver talent. Yeah, yeah, it's not a single lap, but it gets the point across of low-mistake, high-speed driving.

That is actually THE feature that yield him titles -- to get that series of qualy laps in the race in the right time.JimClarkFan wrote:No complaints, that was class high speed driving by MS.
They need to bring back the bigger engines, the top speed should be higher these days. And all engines should have the same top horse power.astracrazy wrote:i love those cars in 05. look so much faster than today
