I just see some heel and toe in the video, nothing more. It's a technique every racing driver uses with a manual gearbox. You blip the throttle with your heel during combined braking/downshifting into a corner for smooth downshifts. I just don't see what it has to do with Senna's accident. Yes, the FW 16 had a clutch pedal for pitstops etc. but for everything else it had a semi-auto gearbox with gear paddles behind the wheel.

Or maybe there's something I'm completely missing in the vid. ?

A documentary of the honda, they analyzed the telemetry Senna and sometimes had unusual readings: in the curves it was faster or not used the brake.

the difussor the FW16 created a Coanda effect reversed.

I can garantee you that this is NOT a Portuguese term...Yes, it is used in Brazil sometimes to describe this driving technic, but the word "punta" doesn't even exist in Portuguese language (the word "taco" may exist, but it has a totally different meaning).
IMO this is probably a Spanish term...

I believe that technique has various names.
Heel-And-Toe -> English.
Punta-Tacco -> Italian.
Spitze-Hacke -> German.
The name of the technique was not translated because it was common in Brazil immigrants add words to their countries of origin in Brazilian culture.
Should be a great story.

I meant Portugeuse the language - and posted a link to the PT version of wikipedia, which was the first result for the term.

So YMMV.

the youtube videos on the 'discovery/natgeo/etc' theories are absolute shame and laugh. cars bottomed out constantly,
nothing ever happened. like said, there are plenty videos removed and taken down that had far more interesting directions
on the actual happenings.

the only sad thing is you tend to stumble upon crazy conspiracists that blow things out of proportions. i wouldn't even be suprised if somebody'd think elvis done it.

thing is, there is no way official data is ever going to pop up somewhere. it's been taken and kept under wraps. if it actually still excists, because it's assumable it was deleted. i don't believe in leprucaurn snipers taking down senna, but i'm totally sure the stories presented aren't true at all and there has been coverup on what's the real cause.
