Title permutations - 2013 India

Post

Vettel wins the title if:
- Alonso wins, and Vettel finishes P5 or above
- Alonso finishes P2 and he finishes P8 or above
- Alonso is out of the top 2

Alonso finishing P3 means Vettel clinches the title on countback

Or in other words, Vettel is already a champion.

Realisitically: Yup.

Unless you come up with a plausible theory how he should not be able to accumulate a single point in the last four races, while Alonso has to win at least three of them and be at least second in the fourth.
If Vettel scores more than two points (e.g. by being at least 8th in one of the last four races) in any of the last four races, then Alonso has to win all four.
Should Vettel ever cross the finish line 5th or better in any one of the last four races, it's done.
And now look at the present performance of the Ferrari/Alonso and RB/Vettel, repectively...

A simple miracle won't be enough.

yeah but then you also have webber, hamilton and others, who finish infront of Ferrari almost every race in 2nd half of season. vettel is already a champion, even if he doesn't drive for the rest of the season. no need for calculations

The permutations are pretty simple and already double-posted in the Indian GP thread.

No need for a seperate thread.
