As a result, changes to F1's Sporting Regulations mean one of this year's pre-season test days will be devoted to wet-weather tyre testing
I dont understand... does Jerez or Bahrain have a sprinkler system ?

Unless it rains beforehand, which could happen on Wednesday.

Just though that Toro Tosso's nose will probably oscillate on those Super Slo-mo vids we see from time to time. A sight to behold

Friday 31st is a wet day test and is curious that the only driver with championship testing that day is Fernando Alonso, In my opinion the others have --- their pants.

Marussia Misses 1st test

Marussia are looking set to delay the launch and miss the first pre-season test at Jerez after a fault with their 2014 car.

According to a British source, this was due to a 'last-minute' technical glitch, which has halted their progress in getting the MR03 prepared and transported to the track in time for the first test which commences tomorrow.

It is understood that the British-based team preferred to address the issue back at the factory in Banbury where their resources are readily available.

The Russian-owned squad are aiming to have the problem resolved by mid-week and hope to take part in the final day of the Jerez test on Friday. However, should they fail to rectify the problem, they, along with Lotus will be the only two teams to have missed the first test.

Marussia are changing from Cosworth to Ferrari power this season, using their new 059/3 Power Unit to comply with the 1.6 litre V6 turbocharged regulation that has come into place for 2014.

They will retain the same driver line-up of Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton for the season ahead.
sure. i don't believe it one bit. from all the teams, we have seen evidence of progress but marussia except from some twitter statements. I guess Lotus won't be the sole one as they have stated before after all.

a 'small' technical issue can't make you drive the 1st test in jerez? why am i finding this hard to believe?

Anyone know what time GMT the first test is at and if it's live on Sky?

Edit: just found out it's not live :-(

Why is this so hard to believe ? I bet these last minute problems happen all the time when teams assemble the final car, sounds like on this occasion they need to machine a new part to fit.

Marussia are not the richest of teams, they wouldn't ship all the personnel & kit over to Jerez for nothing, they expected to test and still hope to.

EDIT: http://f1tests.co.cc/2014.php
this was from Barcelona tests but not also from Jerez. i think there should be another link of live timing... i think it was greek link.
