No one has yet mentioned that for some, the sport is just an audacious money laundering scheme run in broad daylight. :-" :-$
Some men go crazy; some men go slow. Some men go just where they want; some men never go.

I thought about it and wanted to say that but thought people might take it the wrong way...

ciro is spot on here .For whatever reason it is possible to attract insane Moneys to be spent in this Sport and some really are clever enough to make a decent living from working in this Environment.
Yes many quit with not much more than a pair of worn trousers but it sure is only themselves to be blamed.
but Boy ...you would love to tell your grandchildren you were involved and took the fight to the big heads ...

just imagine:

Mo Nunn who made it into F1 because he knew wealthy Ricky von opel who gave him the Money to build an f1 car....I can almost visualize how Mo felt when asked if he could do this.

Well, if you think about it, there are quite a few shady characters lurking in the shadows of the sport. Lotus and Sauber in the past season or two have come close to linking up with some oligarchs from Russia whose finances were suspect. VJ Malia a few years back faced the prospect of having his cars impounded by Indian tax authorities over unpaid debts. Flabbio Briatore? Don't let go of your wallet when he's around.

Formula One is top heavy with usavory characters whose finances are a bit obscure, including Max The Martinet Mosely and Bernie Ecclestone his own self. If you need to launder hundreds of millions, investing in Formula One may be the perfect way to do so.

Just sayin'........

And convicted tax cheat Gene (not Greg) Haas hopes to join this elite group of distinguished business leaders. He'll fit right in :!:

Motorsports is anything but clean ...Schumachers Manager Mr 20% Weber was exactly what he looked like ...or maybe not according to himself...
After all he had enough Money to make it all possible..
