Wouldn't he need a superlicense to take part in practice?

He's getting his 300km by driving a 2012 redbull.

Can't wait to see him driving! Finally the name Verstappen is back on the track. His dad was always brilliant in the rain. And I heard that Max trained that from a very young age. On a regular basis they flooded the floor of a warehouse and then Max raced there with his kart.

Another possible joke replacement for Caterham: Is Merhi "high speed tracks specialist with better feedback", like Lotterer "mixed conditions" and unlike Koba? Incredible how people were looking for reasons and logic where there was none, they are just buying seats for races. http://thisisf1.com/2014/08/24/merhi-to ... talian-gp/

Dutch media claim Van Der Garde will race for Sauber next season (no surprise obviously) and that Sauber are considering dropping Sutil this season in favour of Van Der Garde or Kobayashi.

Hmm, I remember Sutil saying that from last year he already knew he was going to race for Sauber in 2015..

ad.nl is the equivalent to the Daily Mail. You need a better source than that.

Wonder if Sauber will give De Silvestro a drive / reserve driver role?

Presumably, they'll be using whoever can attract the most cash though, especially if they don't manage to score and points between now and the end of the season.

Can't see Sutil driving for anyone next year. Most races without a win in the Sport's history or something and he's been even more anonymous than Esteban this year. On top of that he comes across as a bit arrogant in media interviews imo and doesn't look motivated enough. Would rather seen VG in his seat instead.

She's paid a pretty penny for this seasons 'development' role, so no reason why she won't pay for the same next year.

We've got Van Der Garde, Gutierrez, Sirotkin with huge cheques and eyes on the Sauber seats, Sutil claiming he has a contract, Bianchi with Ferrari backing, then the likes of Felipe Nasr who has substantial backing and no chance of a seat at Williams anytime soon.

On Gutierrez, it was claimed on Sky over the weekend that the planned Mexican Grand Prix is entirely dependant on Gutierrez being on the 2015 grid.

Joe Saward posted this on his blog:
In the meantime, don’t get too convinced about Ferrari drivers staying the same next year. On paper the drive line-up will be unchanged, but as they say in the opera houses of the world, the show isn’t over until the fat lady sings. She should be warbling at Monza.

I don't think FA should sign anything until he has seen validated engine benchmark numbers from Ferrari and Honda.

I also don't know if FA has the leverage to play games as Senna did in the lead up to 1993 season where he raced with one race deals. Personally if FA does that LMd could blow a gasket making his decision easier.

Vettel seems like a much more likely alternative to go to Mclaren then Alonso.
