Not that I know of – I'm pretty sure the teams are allowed to keep that to themselves.

Aye, but we usually get to find out when it causes a retirement or a problem in practise or qualy.

I guess that could be compiled, but it wouldn't be 100% reliable. It's possible for parts to fail, or be so close to failure that they can't be used again, while not having visibly gone bang in any session.

We also have no idea which of the various PU components are affected when we see an engine go bang.

Maldonado is right on the edge of some big grid drops now, with 5 engines, turbos, MGU-Ks and MGU-Hs used, and a full engine change this race. Vergne, Gosjean and Kyat are hot on his heels also with 5 of some components now used.

The advantage of the Merc engine really shows this week.

Depends if all the previous one are broken.
He could use an already used one in Hungary.

The numbers I listed were for the end of the german race, not for the beginning of the weekend. Sorry, I didn't do that for Silverstone, but I will from now on.

How severe are the penalties guys, do they get hit after every new part? Could we see the Renault teams slip back in the constructors because of their usage? RB under threat from Macca/FI after Williams burns them on merit?

They normally use used engines in Hungary. With two of the old spec and one burned there should be two good engines left...maybe even old spec for Hungary.

The Merc users will have new engines for Monza and Spa...again a nice advantage.

After Hungary:

Hamilton's fire puts him in trouble, and Chilton makes a fairly early full engine change. There's also some corrections in the table, as I discovered I'd double counted a couple of control electronics changes.

I wonder if we'll see people like Maldonado start to skip quali to save engine mileage? Let's face it, he faces a risk of a penalty for spa and/or Monza. He maybe into his 7th Engine by then and that's a 20 position grid penalty. I guess he'd run 1 lap in Q3 to make the 107% rule then exit?

I feel like I read or heard that Lewis put units from his Friday allocation?

Anyone else know about this?

Yeah I saw somewhere that because the track layout isn't so hard on engines they used some Friday parts

Ah, I may have jumped the gun on increasing Lewis' tally then. It may come at Spa instead, when he needs a new engine.

I think after Monza everyone will be at 5 ICE at least. Mercs can use a new one for every of these races, Bulls maybe for Spa as there is not much for them to win in Monza.

Not running in Q will not change anything. I think he will use a new engine at Monza and take it as it is. If there is no chance of finishing the season with 6 engines, they will maybe also use a new engine in Spa as they will profit the most there.
