More spokes for aero and rigidity. That looks great on a road car but not f1.

Regarding aero efficiency I think the deep dish lip of current style rims will not suit the 18" rims.
Looking at WEC cars as reference I think the width of the tire needs to stay if not wider, but the face of the rim will be more flush. Ala brawn 2009 without the rim covers.

Edit: The bigger Wheels look amazing on the F1 Car in that Video. Just more agressive than the old Baloon tires.
Do you have any info of Ferrari testing louder exhaust?? This is the first I hear of it.

Will bigger rims mean larger brake rotors?

Not sure why they have to increase the sound of the Ferrari, i mean it´s still a screamer in comparison to the Mercedes engine.
Sounds phenomenal in my opinion.

So they are just redirecting the wastegate pipe instead of merging it with the exhaust pipe. Don't know if that would do much to the sound. Especially not when they use the MGU-H as the main source to regulate the boost pressure.

Interesting article posted several years back. Not sure if illegal but I thought the waste gate is required to dump into exhaust not onto monkey seat

Just unusual after a very long term of 13" tyres. But definitely not bad.
