Start of the 1973 GP at Silverstone, incredibly enough nobody was hurt, but the entire Surtees team being wiped out;

for spectacular crashes I always look towards rally cars...one of my favourites is jeremy foley rolling down pikes peak

I didn't see that race but I saw that picture a few years later and I wondered how was it possible he survived. It was and still is amazing to me that not only did he survive but he raced for several more years.
