Yeah, poor ol' Dick Seaman ( & there's a name to rank with Dick Trickle - as implausibly porno - but actually kosher),
didn't make it, but stickler for the correct.. der Fuehrer Adolf Hitler.. did see that he got a proper hero's send off..
"Well, we knocked the bastard off!"

Ed Hilary on being 1st to top Mt Everest,
(& 1st to do a surface traverse across Antarctica,
in good Kiwi style - riding a Massey Ferguson farm
tractor - with a few extemporised mod's to hack the task).

lewis with fangio's 1955 argentine and monaco #2 car.

in the season opener sir stirling moss drove two mercs, #8 and #6, but the latter stopped due to a fuel system problem, so, you know, nothing unusual there. still working on it. #8 finished 4th and he shared 3 points with karl kling and hans herrmann. (these two guys were named by stan lee, i presume )

fangio didn't have relief drivers and suffered severe burns to his leg from which it took 3 months to recover, and left a nasty scar. factoring in are the facts that the 1955 argentine gp is known as the hottest race ever - they pushed on for 3 hours in 40-degree heat, and that his leg brushed against the chassis which got extremely hot, (no) thanks to the exhaust.

My attempt at re-creating a racing scene in a video game. Shame they didn't model the old banking. Shouldn't be hard, but they didn't. :(

Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)
