I think tyres are a lot more to do with it than people think.

EBD was only really a thing late 2010, but then the Pirelli era started, otherwise I think they would have gone much quicker 2011-13; their race pace was pretty pedestrian.

If Pirelli introduce something with a bit of grip (remember Sutil complaining this year?) the cars will be generating much higher acceleration in the corners.
