Ferrari Future of Formula 1 Car Design

Post

Image

from the article:
Ferrari thought it was time to break the ice and share their vision for what a Formula 1 car should look like. This rendering isn't just a design exercise though. Ferrari drew up this car in collaboration with their F1 aerodynamics department - and the resulting striking design elements are meant to do just one thing, make it go even faster.

Wow..!! Aesthetically I really like it..!!
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Don´t see it mindblowing, as this theoretical exercises should look like IMO

IMHO future is wingless. Wings are sinonim of drag and turbulence, and that´s not good for the show or the eficiency hype they´re trying to sell now

Exactly, it's perfect for Ferrari's future F1 concept.

i have a feeling i've seen a similar design YEARS ago. i'll see if i can find it, doesn't look refreshing or 'new' or 'futuristic' at all imho.....probably get downvoted for this [ commenting on some Ferrari usually results in that ]

Cheap, Ferrari, cheap. ripping off a 2009 design by some 3d artist....that's 6 years old design.

It looks like what a Ferrari might look like in Thunderbirds. I like how they sneaked in 18 inch wheels. personally i'm not a fan. I think the RedBull X1 is a much better concept. It's a futuristic but closer to the identity of what a formula 1 car has become.

Formula 1 should stay open wheel, otherwise it risks getting confused with LMP1. So no fairings or bodywork around the wheels IMO.

Notice how the drivers head is part of the body work? Just shows how silly this drawing is to be honest. Ferrari marketing trying to kick up a bit of a revolution because they aren't happy with the current formula.

No, it is not something from a far-out science fiction movie, but it is a move in the right direction. And it looks different and pretty attractive (purely subjective, of course). Most important to me, it may not be as futuristic as some want, but it is feasible.

Let's not be so negative. F1 needs to change, and that change will probably need to be incremental rather than radical.

Better looking race car than these slanted F1 noses. F1 needs a major makeover.
