F1: the abandoned and deserted.

Post

I enjoy some photogenic scenes. I enjoy the classic F1 picture topic a great lot, too.
Would like to collect as many of pictures of - as sad as it may be - abandoned F1 stuff.

Things like tracks; Hockenheim, old Monza, abondonded F1 cars collecting dust, etc.

let's see how many we can find

Monza banking wrapped in fog haze just looks menacing. Straight out of a horror movie. Probably zombies around the corner.

Truly evocative thanks guys, & at the same time an indictment on the lame 'designer' artificial circuits in use today,
- which are generally so chock-full of boring bends & lacking the inherent 'flow' of a 'natural' track..

Didn't the owner of the land use fill to cover up the tower entrance and raise the ground level due to people climbing in and on it? I thought I read that somewhere.

I was just joking It's not the same tower, in the first photo you can see people standing on the top of the tower and on all 3 levels,
I think this is a smaller version some where else on the property

How many towers were erected there?
Sure looks pretty much identical basic-structure-wise - in the pix..

#-o

I got my thoughts confused. The then owner concreted up the door to the large tower to keep people out. He also tore up the racing surface after people were racing on it illegally.

I'm sure I read about an abandoned F1 track where they used old tires and fill to keep people out. Now I have to find that...
