General idea to help racing

Post

I was thinking and just figured I shared with you guys maybe keep the rules of when you can activate drs but give it a twist since we all know certain cars favor certain types of corners maybe instead of having a specific drs zone if you are under one second heading into the next lap you can activate at any point on the track during that lap 1 time if there is a certain sector that favors your car instead of having mandated zones. just an idea though

Help racing? Get rid of DRS and bring back real racing.

To encourage real racing, maybe FIA should give the winner 1 extra point for every two seconds that he finishes ahead of the number 2 finisher. This should discourage the top 2 racers from "managing" the tyres and so on. If Hamilton beats Vettel by 10 seconds, that would be 5 extra points.

Administratively: Reduce the prize gap between the top teams and the bottom teams to a top/bottom ratio of 2:1, and eliminate conus compensation set aside for specific teams. Eliminate prolonged payment schedules, and contrived requirements which preclude receipt of prize money.

Technically: Make the cares more difficult to drive. Driver mistakes lead to overtaking, and exciting races. This will likely have the downstream effect that less well funded teams must more strongly consider driver talent, compared to the size of the payment made by a pay driver.

1) Return to fully manual, press the pedal to disengage the clutch and then move the lever, style of gear box.
2) Reduce total downforce by a lot.

Fill grandstands by pricing tickets according to demand; faster cars; roll cage/bubble; less technical restrictions (more variety & innovation); more active aero; free tv coverage; more easily distinguished cars (eg fluorescent colours), no ers or drs limits; less brittle wings (less dnf's); less marbles (more overtaking); open source cars at end of season (will keep performance level closer & make new technology available sooner); live telemetry available (so stewards are more accountable for their decisions)
