At least with the EA series you could complete a thorough setup, check the telemetry and improve your laps!! The EA F1 (ISI) team sure did a better job with rfactor when it came to physics. The telemetry was great!!

Codemasters still lacks that key function in my opinion.

Yeah rfactor was good but iam talking about of the shelf buys. Codemasters handling for controller users is great but that's all it has going for it. It lacks the appeal of previous console f1 games like f1 CE developed by Sony and even the classic psygnosis f1 games.

F1'97 by psygnosis was awesome!

My memory of the game is as follows:

In game commentary
Cockpit view
In depth game booklet - Had the Lola's but not included in the game
Fading tyre marks when you got a new set
Arcade mode
Nice easy menu with driver pics & helmets
Included Tyrrel's X-Wing
Different level's of Damage
Good camera views
Williams Numberone
Car failures <-Codemasters should take note
Changing weather

Yeah exactly, I just don't know why they don't build of that platform. Lol Williams number one, because they couldn't get Villenueve to sign. I still have it and play it with my son and the first version based on the 95 season.

Why was Jaques Villeneuve not allowing licenced use of his name?

2 points to the person who remembers which game John Newhouse was on

All I can think was villeneuve been signed to another games developer at the time for what ever reason. Was John Newhouse in the "grand Prix world" game?

John Newhouse featured in "Grand Prix Manager 2" way back at the end of 1996, a whole 19 years ago!

That's just made me realise that I spent all of 96, 97 and some of 98 playing Microprose games before my parents bought me a Playstation 1 and the first game I got with it was F1 98 (A terrible game I must add)

GP3 was with John Newhouse(maybe GP4) as well.

I believe Villeneuve wasn't part of it as they signed the GPDA, which Villeneuve wasn't a part of.

First look to F1 2015 : http://wtf1.co.uk/mexico-f1-2015-gameplay/

Codemaster integrated the new steering wheel with display, It seems like the graphic is really better than the previous game. Wait for more

Even tho the graphics were bad so far it was the least of their problems. I don't think codemasters are capable of creating a sim and anything less than a sim for F1 game is failure IMO.

Newhouse was in gp world aswell, f1 98 was cactus compared to f1 97. Psygnosis really dropped the ball there, even the graphics were worse.

I agree with you. I played Touring Car Champinship 2 in 1999 and it was awful, no sense of speed, tracks seemed as flat as a marble table and the sound was completely awful. Seems that they have trouble creating realistic games.

This was the game that made me like F1. I started playing it and next thing I know, I am a F1 fan. It was realistic for its time, every car was different: the McLaren was the fastest, the Ferrari the slowest but with the best grip, and the Williams somewhere in the middle. I still run it in my computer sometimes.
