If we have three car teams we are more likely to see top drivers in the same car for once. It would be very nice, but not as nice as keeping all the teams we have on the grid.

That would not work as well. Some teams won't agree to that. Imagine STR and Williams having 2 cars and Mercedes and Ferrari, both with 3 cars. Certainly STR and Williams will have less chance to score big points, which will affect the constructors championship massively. Also strategy wise, would be different. You've got an extra car on track, which could have the possibility to hold up the cars behind so the sister cars can make a gap.

Force India to become Aston Martin Racing???

Please do. More colours on the damnd grid, too many greys/blacks/blues at the moment, only Williams, Ferrari and Manor provide something different in livery!

Interesting. Thought RB was trying to work with Aston Martin.

they did, when RB was having conversations on doing a engine deal with Mercedes.
Mercedes (AMG) after all is Aston's current engine partner.

However, with Merc signing manor, that game went out the window.

Interestingly enough, with Manor's bosses leaving, and the question whether they'll survive that,
might have manor being gone from the 2016 picture....leaving RB once again open for a Merc deal. crazy!

where did the Force India Aston Martin idea pop up from?

According to Ted Kravitz the owner's of Aston Martin's debt always wanted to go into F1, and they have recently decided that now is the perfect time to enter using the Aston Martin name in partnership with FI after flirting with williams and Manor. It's not yet decided if it will be a title ssponsoship or a whole sale name change.

Rosberg OUT 2016 ***Confirmed***

Post

News coming through that Rosberg is leaving MGP at the end of this season to be replaced by Pascal Wehrlein.

With Rosberg becoming increasingly dejected the only choice is to leave for the unknown.

Pascal is said to be super excited.

So where will Nico go? Manor? This all seems very unlikely.

Crazy going with FI tho, why not do a deal with a team that has a proven ability to create a championship winning car ... eg RedBull Racing!

Probably because they already have a Merc deal, are cheaper, and has less baggage.

Yeah the Merc Deal is likely significant but unless they tip a LOT of money into FI I just dont see them giving Aston Martin the brand exposure you'd expect they'd need to make it worthwhile ie being a competitive top 3 or 4 team.

Actually I think force India would be a very decent game for AM to enter.
This because first of all, Force India is having a pretty impressive season, especially when you concider there were even
doubts they'd be on the grid - not just that, but didn't they start the year with an 2014-spec car? Managed to do a updated chassis mid-season and their promises became true, they're quite fast, and are having a very good driver pairing.

Keeping that in mind, one could wonder what they might have achieved had they had a decent financial injection.

Besides that, exposure for Aston Martin in F1 in 'achievement' is quite the more 'newsworthy' when you concider they take a front-midfielder to the top, instead of 'lifting along' with the success of RedBull, for example.

I'm very interested in this deal. I could see them entering F1 through Force India with the intent of having success in 2017. I'm starting to think the new rule changes might actually be having a positive effect on F1's attraction. Don't expect them to be title contenders anytime soon, but going for regular podiums in 2017 would be kinda cool.

nothing but nonsense from a F1T troll that is trying to feed his own ego by being degrading to others and thinking he's a bombabad boi just because he has a pitpass for a couple of races. probably lonely and then goes inventing stuff and thinks people will swallow it just because he's taken a close-up shot of a wing or paddock wall.

like the RB Veneno fantasy story; nothing but total bullocks......let's not feed the troll here.
