I think they have every chance of 7 and 8 but can't see how they progress beyond that without problems for others.

Then again, what with last week, who knows if they'll not all run into each other!

On ultra soft tires I expect pole to be in the 1:12's as for the race, I don't know. Last year they had to drive to a delta of 1:20 which kind of made it boring as hell and every single car could match that. When it counted the difference between McLaren and Mercedes was about a second, hopefully they don't piddle around to save fuel and we can see people pushing each other into mistakes and safety cars and ill timed pit stops and maybe we can see a Mclaren on the podium. But if we go by just finishing position based on qualifying performance, i'd say 6th & 7th, just in front of STR.

Monaco is not a 300 kmh + 1 lap long race. It's only 260 km. Therefore any fuel saving will be entirely at team's own discretion. Good to hear yeah? Stupid 100 kg rule.

I think they'll beat Sainz, but otherwise, yeah .. Alonso 7th, Button 8th.

It will be a tough battle because TR should be strong here. I think Saiz will be ahead of both McLaren.

Nobodies gonna be carrying 100kg of fuel at the start of the race in Monaco. They'll all be carrying as little fuel as possible cause it's difficult and VERY risky to pass. So your best chance is at the start or the undercut.

It's my least favourite race. Especially after that year Merc was burning through tires like there was no tomorrow. At Monaco they ran the race pace at a few seconds slower than they could to save tires and still nobody could get past them. I like the quali though.

They should do something about the lack of passing there. Next year with the cars being a couple of inches wider... will they even fit side by side ;) ?

They were wider in the 80's than they will be next year and they raced fine.
Overtaking isn't gonna happen regularly in Monaco even with 1m wide cars.

What Mclaren should do, is not save fuel, and not care about tyres.
They should go for pure performance and show the world just how good the chassis is. Even if they don't finish the race.

Weather forecast always promise rain but they fail. It would be great but I dont believe it until I can see it in front of my very eyes.
