You are being too harsh on Ralf guys. I mean, he isn't setting the world alight, but then who did in a Toyota? Still he beat both seasons his team mate trulli, who is no slouch. Please don't put money in the equation too, because like Jaques said, if they come up with that offer, it would have been stupid to tell them to give him less. For me Ralf passed the exams this year and surely doesn't deserve the worst driver in F1, that goes for any of the Spyker boys.

I agree Monteiro could be classed as worst driver as he has done nothing but i think it would be harsh on Albers as he has been out performing the car all season even managing to get on the tail of the Red Bull group in more than a few races

For me I felt there were two parts to the season, at the start Renault were the class of the field and looked set the championship. But the second part was of Ferrari and how they improved so much to a point they looked as if to win the championship at the end, but overall.....

Best Driver: Alonso
Best Team: Renault
Most Improved Driver: Massa
Most Improved Team: Ferrari
Best Race: Brazil
Best Pass: Schumacher on Fisichella at Brazil
Biggest Surprise: The chain of bad events Ferrari faced in Suzuka and Brazil
Biggest Disappointment: Williams
Turning Point: Suzuka, Schumi's engine blow-up
Worst Team: Williams & Toyota
Worst Driver: Sato
Most Memorial Moment: Schumacher's drive, making up 45 seconds in the race. Schumacher on the podium in Monza

Additions to the list.....
Best Car - At start R26, half-way through season 248 F1 was the car to have. The Mclaren MP4-21 looked the best though, with the chrome thing going on.

Best Driver:Raikkonen - he showed speed that his car shouldn't have had

Best Team:Ferrari - Their dismal '05 season spilled into '06 and they put it together at the end. That's teamwork!

Most Improved Driver:Villeneuve - He was in some dire straights until regained his form by out driving Heidi this season.

Most Improved Team:BMW/Sauber - Transformed the unreliable Sauber into a car that can podium.

Best Race:Hungary - Everything that could did happen.

Best Pass:Raikkonen on Webber @ Monaco - You shouldn't be able to pass where he did...but somehow did.

Biggest Surprise:Robert Kubica - Either he's that good or Heidi is that poor.

Biggest Disappointment:Nico Rosberg - All hype and little driving. His bickering this season left a bad taste. Scott Speed did better than him.

Turning Point:USGP

Worst Team:Toyota - Spent a billion dollars and they're still unreliable and somewhat slow as the race progresses.

Worst Driver:Yuji Ide - Super Aguri lawn care specialist

Most Membrial Moment:Schumi parking @ Rascasse *tied* with his engine letting go at Suzuka.

Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Best Driver: Nothing much between any of them, I guess it has to be Fernando
Best Team: Renault, most of the time, recovering from mass damper exclusion they coped admirably
Most Improved Driver: Massa, after his spin in Bahrain I thought little of him, now he's got 2 brilliant wins. Sato second.
Most Improved Team: BMW Saulber, what a turn around, don't be surprised if they're winning next year.
Best Race: Suzuka, Brazil and Monaco, although plenty to choose from.
Best Pass: Has to be MS at Brazil, not sure which one though.
Biggest Surprise: Super Aguri, for making it to Melbourne.
Biggest Disappointment: The Red Bulls, they were going backwards by the end of the season.
Turning Point: USGP
Worst Team: Williams, never looked good in a single race.
Worst Driver: Ralfy, uninspired and unmotivated again, Ide, having your superliscence revoked for going too slow, thats bad.
Most Membrial Moment: So many to choose from, it has to be DC inheriting 3rd in Monaco, I wet myself with glee.

It's very interesting that people aren't listing McLaren as a disappointment. Did I miss something over the winter that let everyone else know McLaren was going to be off the pace all year?

But they weren't the most disappointing team. I think Toyota and Williams were, actually thinking about it, Toyota have always been a disappointment.

Maybe.

I just think that going from being a multiple-race winner and title contender one year, as McLaren were last year, to being a nearly forgotten also-ran the next is pretty damn disappointing. To me it's certainly more disappointing than Toyota or Williams, both of whom I didn't really expect anything from.

But I've been wrong before.
