Post

Just want you guys to know that testings starts again at Barcelona on November 28-30.

I can not wait to see the new cars and there semi paint jobs :)
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

I question whats the sense in these tests. Ok this year there is the issue with tyres but what about other years? From the few things I know is that chassis are completely different from year to year and improvements on a car don't necessarily mean it will improve the next year car, right?

Any testing going is important for teams. Alot of the development of next years cars will be done by now and what ever they have ready they will need to test. Annything from gearboxes to new wiring systems to cooling systems. Also the tests help keep the trackside teams and drivers from getting rusty over the winter.

things could work theorically, but where you need them to work is on track. That way teams can change or redesing some parts before season starts. Also tyre compounds change every year, new drivers comming... testing is the most important thing.

Also it helps us spending our winter time talking about test sessions :)
