Button to miss race of champoins

Post

Good surely the key is in the name Champions why was he ever considered oh wow he's won a race. Hamilton was a better choice he won a championship this season. Bet it wasn't even a go kart accident I Buttons dad got into debt again but instead of having all his fingers broke again he offered up his son. Rant over few

What do you guys think?
Should he have been considered?

You could make the same argument for David Coulthard.
Jimmie Johnson has also pulled out due to breaking his wrist after falling from the top of a moving golf cart!

Heikki Kovalainen will be there for the 3rd time and he hasn't won even a race in F1. Heck, he hasn't even raced there yet. He didn't win the GP2 champ either. Actually, he hasn't won anything major to make him one of the best in the world.

He did win the Race of the Champions two years ago though. Beating Loeb in a WRC car, a car which should be more than familiar to Loeb and Heikki hasn't even sat in a rallycar before. Schumi was too slow too. ;)

My point is that it's just a show. Sure they all drive seriously, but it's still just a show. It's not the ultimate race to settle who's the fastest guy in the world. And I say that only because Heikki didn't win last year! j/k

Maybe in a different universe

USGP and onwards:
Alonso: 4 + 8 + 4 + 0 + 8 + 0 + 8 + 10 + 8 = 50
Schumacher: 10 + 10 + 10 + 1 + 6 + 10 + 10 + 0 + 5 = 62
Button: 0 + 0 + 5 + 10 + 5 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 6 = 40

So it seems, have to start counting from last 6 races.

Assuming Saribro's figures are correct:
Last x races, Alonso/Schumi/Button
1, 8/5/6
2, 18/5/11
3, 26/15/16
4, 26/25/20
5, 34/31/25
6, 34/32/35
7, 38/42/40
8, 46/52/40
9, 50/62/40
