Hi

I've seen in several articles that some of the teams seems to have tested brake light in Bahrain. Any of you guys can comfirm what's goin' on?

yep,
heard they all need to run the system this year.
its not a 'brake' light, its a deceleration warning light... i have heard the idea is to set it to about 1g decelation, so it will light if lift off throttle from flat out.
i prefer to call it a 'retardation warning', seeing as i think its a stupid idea...but thts the fia for you

During wet races maybe now the light will come on so that we don't get people running into the backs of eachother. However, this would kinda blow donkeys if it was implememnted in dry races.

the breaking point will change with respect to the fuel load ...so if i am the drive i would int want any unwelcomed surprises ....they mite break early also

Sorry, ryanjuk up there was actually me, seems Ryan's been using the school PCs to look at the forum too and they're saving the last loggin, so equally if you see any rude comments from my good self its probably someone at school spamming. I'll try and remember to log out in future.

well,
according to a ferrari spokesman the system isnt going to be used in 2007.
not what i heard, but then if they have said that i guess it must be true

Why do some teams have green light instead of red? I would've thought this would have been standarized.

not 100% certain of the criteria, but a green light is used to indicate a 'novice' driver... i guess its summut to do with super licience status.
its f1's version of 'L' plates anyway
