Pitwalk from french GP

Back to home from the Nürb where I was for the Modena days, I made a stop at this track hidden in the french campaign, a good idea with this thursday pitwalk :D

Superb photos, thanks for posting.

Very interesting details, especially of the front suspension arms. What is the heat coating used on the inboard end of the rear A-arm of the Honda, where it meets the gear box?

That is a heat protective fairing, its made from a carbon ceramic material, most teams run these on the rear, BMW have them and have fitted a small opening on the outer end to send air through the fairing further cooling the wishbone inside.

Cooler than I thought. The arrow-like shape make them look very very nice and agressive.

that aluminium piece on the Honda wing is interesting. Is it something to do with transporting the wing?

Is this legal?!

As far as I know the brake duct size is restricted... but they added another duct :?

Perhaps its to provide more even brake cooling more than an effort to increse the duct size.

It never ceases to amaze me the attention to detail of these cars and how everything's so well packaged, like the back end of the Red Bull and the Ferrari.

1 question - what is the point of the sprouts out from the cockpit? obviously its aero but where are they managing the air to?
