Indeed, as little as the Ontario event in 1971 was, can we please have some obvious rules here?

Having said that, I'm selfpromotingly grabbing the baton with this;

At this certain race in 1971, Francois Cevert had to step out of his Tyrrell on the grid just to get back in a minute.

Canadian GP at Mosport. Race already delayed by a fatal Formula Ford accident, Ganey wrecked his BRM on the warm up lap in the rain.

I imagine he would have done something to remember the deaths of those involved in the big crash that killed his team mate and spectators at the Italian GP that year.

See that spoiler...cute one,,,looks like one off a Camaro,,,it's the production improved one..the first ones didn't have it.
Ginther was bothered by exhaust fumes being sucked back into the cockpit so he put a crude deflector on the back and discovered it not only stopped the exhaust fumes but it improved road holding. And thus the spoiler was born.
