You better mark the FiA page. http://www.fia.com/en-GB/sport/regulati ... nship.aspx

You will always find the new regulations there.

Primary Designs , specialist manufacturer of high performance exhaust systems have had to open a new factory in oxfordshire ..they quote growing demand from F1 teams as one of the reasons

maybe we can expect lots of developments in this field in 2012 to get the maximum out of the new rules !
to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be

Can anyone enlighten me as to what, if any restrictions there are on wind tunnel testing? I heard the scale of the WT is a factor...

22.9 With the exception of the full scale testing permitted in 22.4(c)(iii), no wind tunnel testing may be carried out using a scale model which is greater than 60% of full size.

22.10 No wind tunnel testing may be carried out at a speed exceeding 50 metres/second.

22.4 (c) (iii) Four one day aerodynamic tests carried out on FIA approved straight line or constant radius sites between 1 January of the current year and the start of the last Event of the Championship. Any of these days may be substituted for four hours of wind]on full scale wind tunnel testing to be carried out in a single twenty four hour period.

When they say 60% scale; does that mean; 60% length; 60% height and 60% width? Or 84% of the width/length/height? (.84^3 = 0.6). i.e. is it on a scale of 10:6 as you'd find on a map; or is it in terms of volume?

I would expect linear scale, but I don't have the document to confirm it.

What are the odds that F1 doesn't change the regulations for 2013? The last year before the V6. It would be nice to see what happens with at least two years in a row with the same regs.

Don't think so. I haven't heard anything at least.
I've found a way of ducting exhaust right to the diffuser edge like in 2011 and created a new wheel fastener that could allow sub 2 second pitstops see them here --> My 2013 F1 Concept Project

For a final swan song, they should let the v8's rev to 20-22k rpm like they were designed to.

Maybe an overide button that disengages the rev limiter completely? 30,000 rpm overtakes and quali trim for the last race of the season :?:
