What do you think of the prospect of a USGP 2012 at Austin Texas

Good thinking. Place has good infra structure and nice climate in winter.

Not good as it has no motor sport tradition in the US.

only 7 team buildings for 12 teams?
It's because this race will take place in the faraway future, when five teams have dropped out.

Inspection in five months time, is it hairy?

No one's considered the possibility of double-occupancy buildings? Or does literally everything have to be spelled out?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I count 9 buildings in the rendering... I assume we're talking about the smaller rectangular buildings directly behind the main pitlane building?

EDIT: Should have looked at the .pdf link before posting, I see the 7 buildings now...

Good thinking there, I suggest they place McLaren and Ferrari together, divided with a drape of course?

It's not like the teams are going to be using those spaces for anything directly related to the performance of the cars. They're offices.

Aha, how about Ferrari and Williams then, I'm sure Mike Coughlan would like that?

How about a breakaway series with Ferrari, Mclaren and Mercedes....
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Were it not a flyaway race, the teams would bring their own, which is the only reason why maybe asking them to share seems so barbaric.

7 blocks on a plan ... shock ... horror ... they might be split? One upstairs, one downstairs. Or perhaps one on the left half, one on the right half? #-o

That'll make 14 office units. 12 for the teams, one for Bernie, one for stewards.

Have you got any pictures for comparison?

I found one of the track in India 10 months before the race, copied below. But the only pics I can find of the buildings were show unfinished structures 4 months before the race, so not really suitable for comparison at the moment

Only goes to prove that all these images are just that, images, the entire race is imaginary and MrE knows that,
why he took off like a bat out of hell with the money without ever looking back from his soulmates in Hoboken NJ.

Nobody seems to have paid any attention to access roads, parking lots or even a sponsor for the race anyway?

What's your take on this WB?

The 5 other teams need to make camp outside with some rednecks.
I could be wrong, but iirc the buildings are each divided into two and can house 2 teams each. However, there were more buildings in earlier plans.

x - Not sure how you got that.

There is a plan showing 7 team buildings, and it can be seen how that neatly accommodates the 12 teams plus FOM and the stewards. So how does that show the race to be imaginary?
