Renault F1 & the IT Industry (Factory Tour Included)

Post

Hi Guys,

Long term reader, just registered to hopefully start making an input to the community, and also to share this with you...

This company is hosting an event at the Renault F1 factory:-
http://www.majentasolutions.com/solutio ... e-in-2011/

They did a similar event before and it was really informative and interesting. The event revolves around IT including topics like data storage and server virtualisation. If you in the industry or interested in how F1 teams manage things like the massive amounts of CFD, telemetry, design data etc. it's a really insightful event.

At the end of the seminars they do the factory tour and last time there was an opportunity to have a go in the simulator! (not mentioned this time).

If your in the IT industry and you have an interest in how the F1 teams manage their IT then I couldn't recommend this event more!

Thanks for the article. As a storage engineer I can relate to this article.. Cloud computing is everyone's hot topic right now from an IT perspective. - It is not surprising to hear that Renault F1 team is partnering with both Netapp and VMWARE for their Virtualization /optimization efforts.. These two are one of several leading vendors in Data Storage consolidation initiatives.
