The various Mclaren MP4-12C GT3 that you see in this video can definitely be considered real flame throwers on four wheels. I recorded them during the qualifying session of the 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series at Monza Circuit

Were there any other turbocharged entrants at the track that day? If so, were they spitting flames on the overrun like the Maccas?

Awesome videos (esp the audio quality) btw. Thanks for sharing them!

Not necessarily for the McLaren fans only, I'd say it's the engineer's supercar.

+1 x

I´m not that impressed with the looks of it even the whole layout is not that impressive but the engineering and detail is just mindblowing.
I met through work a supplier to Mclarencars and they were less than impressed with their nitpicky in love with the smallest detail approach...i love it

If it wasn't for those awful hex-head bolts, at least as seen on the images so far, low-head insex is the way to go if you ask me.

Their attention to detail really is outstanding, same radius on the piping for crying out loud! I´d love to wake up everyday and go to work at that place =P~

Wow, the google images for that term are not engineering related at all. :wtf:

But yes, please be more precise Xpensive.

From this angle the red model looks like a 360 Modena.

Our little 12c gets smoked by an Aventador in a straight line...

The rumor mill hasn't been kind to McLaren of late...

http://translate.google.com/translate?s ... 91926.html
The former McLaren boss Ron Dennis had to swallow another demotion. It is only recently a non-executive member of the board. In other words, a shareholder without voting rights. Dennis should have the shareholders from Bahrain massive upset because the street sports car costs money, instead of yields. Instead of the planned 3,500 units, only half is sold. Supposedly there is a decrease in the hundreds of millions. The Bahrainis are now seeing their money disappear, never to return.
I have a hard time believing that they've only sold 1750 cars, but you never know. I'll look forward to the PitPass exclusive financial report on this for confirmation.

I think the global financial crisis had a big effect on the sales of the McLaren 12C. It was just a case of unfortunate timing more than anything. There's nothing wrong with the products themselves.

But I do feel the P1 might be coming up short on the pedigree stakes as it's largely based on the 12C. The P1's monocoque and engine are derived from the 12C's instead of being totally unique to the P1.
