Lets just see if they get some investment and some sponsorship. Id recon they will, hopefully a group of Spanish sponsors will fork out up to €30m for the team, with the FOM money and other areas of income, id recon they could have a healthy, but limited budget of €65m to €72m this year. A improvement from €45m last year. However its still up to €15m below what Marussia could have and €35m short of what Caterham and Williams will have, the only other team with a double digit budget is Sauber, €98m is seemingly what they will have this year.

I just hope there is some investment, a decent car would be a bonus, even better if it is shaken down and tested with at least 3,000KM testing on the clock accross at least 2 chassis. Id like to see 002 chassis with 6 days testing and 003 chassis with 2 days testing before AUS hits in arround 40 days.

Its all new equiptment they have from todays press release. Theres up to €5m of the budget gone, also means there is very little Kolles carryover as well. The only thing thats theres is the Chassis, Transmission and suspension parts. Looking at this pic from today more or less confirms this as Kolles liked to use those gawd awful looking red tyre warmers, now they have more attractive black ones:

This is leading me to essencially treating Hispania as a brand new team for 2012. Yes its year 3, but its year 1 for the team being "stable" if you can associate Hispania with stability. This will be more of a target towards the end of the year id recon.

The good thing about Hispania getting their base in Madrid, they are close to a air port or two, and it also sets up a new Cluster of F1 staff in Europe, as the main clusters are in Oxford, UK; Cologne, Germany; Modena, Italy; and Paris, France. This gives an alternitive base, but first it needs to establish, and it took Toyota arround 4 to 5 years to establish one in Cologne. Time will tell.

Personally id have set up shop in the Technology park at Motorland Aragon, whitch would have given the team a track to shake down at that is local.

As with the other car threads, anything off topic from now on will dissapear into thin air or go on vacation to the infamous thread in the off-topic. Let us attempt discussing the actual car and it's related subjects.

Scarbs has tweeted that Hispania have failed their crash tests. He dosnt say if its just one or all 3 needed to pass. It could be that it may have been just one by a minimal ammount.

However, Ferrari did fail their crash tests this tear, but they subitted a new nose box the next day and passed it. They have the resource to recover quickly enough. Hispania do not.

Update:
De la Rosa is keeping his fingers crossed that HRT gets the green light to get its new car out for the next test at Barcelona, with the outfit hoping to finish off its crash test programme later on today.

AMuS Interview: ..... Pedro De la Rosa hopes that the new car passes all three dynamic crash tests (front, side and back). He says the tests take place today and tomorrow, so we will probably hear something soon.

And, as if by magic, Joe Saward is now reporting that it is the roll-hoop that failed the test : http://joesaward.wordpress.com/

If its the roll hoop, thats a pretty hard one to fail. However it isnt uncommon for one to pass and another to fail.

Its in 2013 that a 5th crash test is added, the T-Tray is getting tested next year, in order to try and prevent flexi-floors.

HRTF1Team: 14 crash tests passed. Chasis approved but the 2 that failed (by minor margin) prevent us to have the car ready for BCN1 test

2 that failed by margins are the roll hoop and lateral nose test... the parts are to be re tested next week and the front impact test on the nose could not be completed because of this.

Big news is that the chassis had no problems, which is a big thing I think for the team.

I don't care what battlebob or wesley123 think :)

That's a shame. Just hope they can be ready for the second Barcelona test. That would be, in my opinion, enough if they have good reliability. The main problem would be KERS, but let's hope they have no problems with it.

If they could do a shakedown before Barcelona's test, it would be even better

Unfortunatly we are not going to be in the first test in Barcelona, but to wesley and this people doesnt mean that the team was lying or something like that just that they didnt pass the crash test and there is not time and money enough to done it before the 18.

Fortunately the team has fans that they will be always there and never will give up.
