Surely Kolles was in on the planning of this car, he left in Mid December...

Anyway don't want to bicker... lets just wait to see the car.

It was a big mistake NOT to demand all crash tests being signed off as a must before taking over the project.
I don't think its only got to do with building the car, it might just also be about the logistics. All fans know that when cars crash over the race weekend during practice any team are able to rebuild their cars over night. The first assembly and fitting of part can be problematic but the F112 should be at least half assembled by now & in a truck on the way to Barcelona for final assembly at the track, while the missing parts are still being made.

When you turn up for a late crash test you would probably turn up with more then one test sample for each configuration. So unless we not being told something, it should be possible to have a car in time.

And this was supposed to be the shortest winter ever :?
I cant wait to see the F112 =D> ! oh and the MR-03

Whoaaaa, fantastic news (the HRT one). The Marussia's one... let's hope they can make it to Australia. HRT needs Marussia and Marussia needs HRT so they can compare and know who has improved more

LOL

Yes we need Virgin/Marussia, I really feel for them because we went through the same thing both last year as well as this year. They are worthy opponents.

Just because HRT will have some preseason testing this year, HRT must not be complacent and approach the season in a more relaxed way. Maybe the reason why we finished ahead of Virgin last year was because we started on the back foot. So we took extra care and payed extra attention and took nothing for granted. HRT should start this season with the same state of mind, as if we had no testing at all! We need to get 10th place this year and the only way we can do that is by beating Caterham I just hope the F112 is good enough

Marussia have a good facility, a McLaren deal and the sponsorship.

Hispania have a 2012 car fully homologated however, whitch is more to the point, as well as a 2011 Williams KERS and a 2012 Williams transmission.

Marussia are trying to be pragmatic, Hispania are more optomistic.

Im more in the Hispania camp with the HRT Vs Marussia battle but realise both need each other to survive in the sport.

Hispania will be arround 2,000Km ahead of Marussia come to Austrailia asuming a relyable car that can do arround 500Km a day, asuming they can get 105 plus laps on it each day.

Im thinking that realistically we cant compair both untill they have arround 5,000Km on the clock, whitch is arround the 5th or 6th GP, basically once they get on their first propper update package.

If both teams are within a second of the tail end of the mid pack after mid season, they will have done well, however they are both getting the same target from me, both to be within a secont of the tail end of the mid pack by the seasons end and have at least one race where one car and both cars dont get lapped. With the 2009 saftey car rule reinstated, this is achieveable for both teams now.

Remember with this rule, there will be more freak results down the pack as cars will be running closer to the limit. As we have seen the past two years, at this level, Hispania have had that freak result. 2010 saw them have a P14 one more time than Virgin and in 2011 they had the P13 in Canada over the P14 of Marussia Virgin.

ESPI just a quick one, its 2012 KERS & Gearbox deal for HRT.

And I am not sure they will do 4 days yet..

2012 transmission with a Cosworth packaging bolt placement and a 2011 KERS as the 2012 Williams KERS is bespoke for the RS27-2012.

Williams are updating the 2011 KERS however to have the same batteries as the 2012 one, but thats where the simmilarity ends as the 2011 system works for the Cosworth CA2012 loom but the 2012 Williams system has a diffrent loom for the Renault power plant.

The change in batteries alone will save an estimated 2kilos for the 2011 system.

The cost of the Cosworth CA2012/Williams Transmission and KERS is costing €2.5m of the budget alone, but has been proven as trusted and true from last season, and is more up to date than the X-Trac system that relies on updated technology from the 2005 BAR Honda and the 2008 Toyota as well.

Also the KERS on the Hispania will probably be worth up to .6 of a lap to them as they will posibly have over the Marussia when it is seen.

No chance, its another consultant designed F1 car just like the 2010 car, the designer has walked and there isn't much money. Caterham business model has been better from the outset which is why we see them with proper facilities, well funded and with support from a major force in F1 in Red Bull. Caterham have achieved credibility which has put them in the position they are in, HRT have yet to do the same.
