Sauber C31 Ferrari

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Also the VJm02 had very sculpted sidepods.
You're right about the side pods. Its a Frankin-car of spare parts.
FI sell a lot of their old chassis.

This is soooo far off topic I genuinely feel bad for the mods, but FI are so.. financially aware? that you can actually buy their race-used driver underwear from the usual F1 parts sites.

Edit: Or is it an Arrows? Or bits of both? I forget, but I'm referring to the RB Show Car. which means this post and those above won't be here long :D
RBR probably acquired Minardi assets when they bought Minardi and branded them as Toro Rosso. As for this Sauber show car one thing is certain is that part of the car (the headrest) is pre 2008. Could be a BMW Sauber F1.07? They had similar mirrors to the one in the picture.

Some interesting bits, especially the front wing.
You can see the second element being composed as two parts and not one solid piece.
Also interesting to see the Gurney flap on the edge of it.

Diffuser is pretty interesting as well. Different slots in the rear wing (forgot the name in english)
Instead of going straight down and actually aid the diffuser they are curved inwards towards the diffuser.

Huh? In the picture you quoted, the turning vanes are the same. In the picture above that one, one is missing and the other isn't.

I take it the new front wing first seen at the Barcelona tests purpose is vortex generation to avoid tyre drag?

Or have I missed something?
