Interesting! So we could assume they generate enough downforce elsewhere without it while other teams can't "live without it"... Interesting.

those vanes under the footplate are new, I havent seen anyone run anything like that before

Yep, previously they had lots of vertical fins in that area, instead of those horizontal vanes, very outside the box thinking.

Good spot Craig! I thought you were referring to the diffuser-like vanes beneath the main plane, but yes, I've never seen those horizontal vanes.

Seeing those other pics, I think they may not be fins but bits of carbon to be bonded on somewhere else
