I allways thought McLaren is the fastest developer(see 2009: with a bad car at start of the season to a winning car at Hungary). And i thought that they want to bring updates at every weekend.

I've been quite disappointed with the rate of development on the MP4-27 this year, especially when you compare it to the rate of development they had in 2009.

Thanks to Jenson "I have no balance" Button, you can expect slow as molasses upgrade rate this year.

The last update was waaaaay back in Barcelona! That was back in the 2nd week of May! We are almost in July!

Not even a fin nor a flap since then.

=D> right! that is what i mean. In Montreal we could only see a low downforce rearwing. But nothing else. The only big thing was the snow plug dissapearing and the high nose. Other Teams are testing many different things (RB: 3 different exhausts, Ferrari: 100 or more different exhausts). We just can see on every second weekend a small change in the fw.
To the frontwing especially: Look the RB or Lotus frontwing, they made a much mor complex frontwing.
McLaren has more or less the same frontwing since Abu Dhabi 2010: http://blueists.com/wp-content/uploads/ ... ircuit.jpg

Something goes wrong at McLaren the last years

I don't agree on the exhaust development. I think McLaren have perfected their design and seem happy to just tweak it as they go, while other teams are still trying to learn how it works. Every race Red Bull's design looks more and more like McLarens.

But your right, we haven't seen much development in other areas, aero-wise anyway. You would have thought perhaps Super-DRS would be in the pipe? (no pun intended). With the field so close this year, surely you would be chasing after even the smallest gains... If you ask me, this has to be one of the most disappointing seasons for McLaren so far. They had the fastest car at the start of the season, and it has been wasted. Does the MP4-27 lack development potential? I can't honestly believe that...

I think the whole exhaust developement is not needed. In an Article from Gary Anderson in a newspaper i read that the benefit from the exhaust is only 25% from the benefit u could do with the exhaust in 2011. So i allways asked me why every team developes the exhausts.

Edit: I became McLaren fan because i allways was amazed how they improved the car each race. They turned bad cars to good cars. This was allways the facination, which made me to a Mc fan.

The benefit of last year blown exhaust was estimated around 2 seconds per lap, so 25% of it is still worth the effort

this is true  .

Here u can see the McLaren front wing developement: http://scarbsf1.wordpress.com/2012/04/2 ... velopment/

thanks scarbs.

But some teams did much more in 2 years. So where will McLaren be at the end of the season? With this developement speed they will fall behind the Sauber or Lotus.

Off-Topic: Ferrari seams to be one of the car which save the tyres very good. Is this made by the strange front suspension?

Anyone think the lack of updates is due to B-spec chassis arriving for Silverstone, hence no updates on this car which will no longer be used?

Also if this were to happen could they do new crash tests without the information getting out?

Apparently Lewis's car had a new rear axle. But yeah I've been very disappointed in McLaren update this season (and last year as well).
