I don't see a point to them. They didn't perform as intended, and I'm not exactly sure they ever will. So now they're just obstructing air flow in an area of the car were teams have spent years and millions trying to minimize such obstructions.
The bodywork rules for this area and the exhaust rules are set in such a way as to be diametrically opposed to one another. It's debatable whether or not Red Bull's solution will work, and McLaren's solution's potency is also debatable. What is not debatable, I fear, is Ferrari's solution.
The shape and minimum radii mandated by the regulations concerning sidepod bodywork and its extensions virtually assure that attempts to inject exhaust like this, in veritable defiance of the exhaust's own unique regulations, will fail.
The FIA, it seems, just got this one right.
