Red Bull RB8 Renault

Those are some big ducts, I wasn't under the impression that barca was very demanding on brakes? Why the need for such cooling?

Yeah it is. The description on the picture said RB, so I didn't think twice. My apologies.

Did they span a rope or something in picture 2 and 3? And why?
It seems that they measure something.

For setup reasons. Tie it between two points and line up the ride height or whatever with the string.

Why do you think they route air flow to the outer edge of the disc with the duct that is visible

Looks like an old-fashioned wheel alignment.

This was talked about during the AusGP this year, where the Aussie commentators were almost mocking it, saying that with the hundreds of millions of dollars spent by an F1 team, basic wheel alignment is still left to a $3 ball of string..

Seb testing the slot in the rear of the sidepod pre Bahrain. Noone seems to have noticed on the sky team as of yet.

Webber on the Bahrain spec.

Have they changed anything? I mean, I'd suspect they changed something - rather than just hoping doing the same thing will now suddenly work

Didn't seem like it.

A lot of the teams were going back and forth between old and recently developed/tweaked components.

Actually, the area directly behind the exhaust seemed to be different.

The bridge looked more like the old sauber exhaust and there seemed to be a more dramatic "drop" in the exhaust channel.

The channel seemed to be more closed off at the point of exit than before.

Hopefully a few pics will confirm it and not label me as a hallucinating psychobabbler.

Well here's the new version with big drop off and the duct. But I can't find where the duct exits in this shot though.
