Lotus E21 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

They are much more exciting though.

Does this front suspension look like pull-rod?
Still a push-rod in the renders from what I can see.

Last year monstrosity!

CGI pics are the real deal. E21 has a stepped nose!
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

The angle plays with you again.

What the hell is with the whole "last year's car" bandwaggon everyone's jumping on?

Are you all blind?
  • The side pod air intakes are totally different
  • The barge boards and turning veins are entirely different
  • The front wing is different
  • The nose is a different shape
  • The exhaust system is entirely different
  • The rear wing is different
  • The air intake is different
  • The roll hoop is different
In fact, the only similarity with the E20 I can see is the shape of the side pods, which aren't the same (the undercut is bigger), just similar.

I dearly hope so. That car is getting more ugly every minute.

The new air intake looks really cool. They cut out the complete outer edge. The upper-inner flap is used as a mounting for the turning vanes.

If Kravitz is tweeting it then it has meaning.

Ergo, E20 chassis or not, worth discussing.
