Mercedes AMG F1 W04

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Explain me this:
They made a higher nose to increase the amount of air passing under it, but at high speeds there could be problems with pressure, affecting the performance; so, why adding the bulge NOW, there's a short straight here, and the bulge has the aim to reduce those potential pressure problems
I guess as they tried a new nose in the last race this is an update to that. I guess they didn't want to test too many things at once or waste time doing that if the new nose didn't work

i don't think its really track related but just a general update now

the gurneytab on it is.

On the other hand. The outer edge of the main plane isnt new, it's the same, it just looks different because of the angle/lightning

Also that Lewis has a "first spare" =D>

I also didn't realise the cascade was a fully join tunnel if that makes sense.

* What benefits would the cascade give, is it a downforce creator or more to force air over the front tyre?

Is it just me or is that a new rear wing, most obviously it has that slot in, but also, the whole of the end plate looks to be re-profiled, it seems to move inwards and outwards more and be curved around the back top edge compared to the straight right angle on that used in Germany (see below).

It seems that they have improved (again) the manufacturing, the edges look more smooth in the new front wing.
