Force India VJM07 Pre-launch Speculation

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It would look similar to this kind of twin keel : P

It seems that you can't have that kind of shape anymore because of the modification of the rule 15.4.4 :
Following the application of the permitted radii, the external cross-sections of the survival cell between the lines A-A and B-B must, over their respective minimum widths, have a minimum height of 300mm at the line B-B reducing at a linear rate to a minimum height of 225mm at the line A-A. Furthermore, no part of any external cross section of the survival cell in this area which lies more than 250mm above the reference plane may contain any concave radius of curvature.

Ah, the old twin keel pioneered by Sergio Rinland on the Arrows A23 as I recall. Obsolete concept. The teams started mounting the lower wishbones directly to the tub because the zero keel has better stiffness. I think the zero keel first appeared on a BAR Honda around 05/06.

The new team kit is a bit 'bold'
Image

Massive new sponsor in the shape of lubricant brand roshfrans, Mexican, how convenient!

Will feature on overalls, rear wing endplates and driver helmets! Also appears to have added red to the force India colours....

So expect a 'adjusted' livery on the VJM07 when it comes out.

Seems like the red is perhaps to make the new sponsor blend in more. (and possibly having the green color tweaked a little bit)

Here we are, hoping for glimpses of the new cars, and all we get is a effing ugly supersized t-shirt. Hard to be a fan these days!

We're just like rabid dogs in January, trying to grab any piece of interest news there is!
We'll be well fed come next Tuesday, mind.

Yea i think the flash on the camera is brightening up the colors a bit.
We´ll have to wait for more representative pictures to see if they have indeed tweaked the colors a tiny bit to accommodate the new sponsor.

They couldn't find a shirt the right size??
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Much of this talk of teamwear and sponsors isnt really about the car. Should be in the team thread.
