McLaren MP4-29 Mercedes

So they are.

Mclaren did have a new front wing at Singapore if I'm right but didn't race it. There was no news of a front wing in Japan, so this must be the revised solution to the 'failed' development wing from Singapore?

??

Some interesting information on the lack of front downforce, at least stuff I've not seen mentioned before.

The upper Elements of the Front Wing are different.

The main plane of the top(new) FW is different as well. The metal insert is new as is the small curl it has with it.

Incidentally, have they still got the butterfly wishbones at the back?

Please don't speculate here about lap times (unless you're on the Team, you don't know what caused the lap time - and maybe not even then), the track, the simulator, another Team's car, or another year. Please put those in the Team or Race threads and just discuss the parts technically here.

(Mclaren Website).

Mclaren at Suzuka - Top Butterfly smaller ???

Also, gap beneath the bottom Butterflies to Defusser seems bigger.

Looks to me they are still developing this area aggressively.

Very good spoot! I was looking for another one, but i can't find it... They had the totally covered suspension during the race; so, i suppose that they tried it in FP1 or FP2

Also the main plane is different in the way the wing connect to the neutral sections. Looks like a rush job concerning the bondings.

EDIT: differences are all over the wing.

Yes, subtle differences, but they are there, mainly around the end of the elements.

I don't know, but they tested some new bits on their FW, found this tweet below. Does anybody know what this "white stripes" could be for? https://twitter.com/Graftechweb/status/ ... 6164326400
