Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yes it does look like an evolution of the cars of the past 2 years.

The nose fails.. They should have made it extend to the maximum allowed distance of 1200mm to get more air under it.
Though it's difficult to tell at this time if this design is just as good aerodynamically. I suspect they will change to a McLaren type crash structure as the year goes on.
For Sure!!

I suppose that Ferrari will bring a new nose in Jerez or Bahrein

Indeed!
The Sidepods Trophy definitely goes to the F14T.

But the nose really surprises me.
I don't see the concept behind. How does it make sure as much air goes to the underbody as possible?
Actually I can hardly believe they will rubn this nose.

Hey, Brawn won with a low slung nose. There are too many armchair aerodynamicists here! Who are we to second guess years of iterations and thinking?

I'm quite impressed with how many of the nose concept drawings that has been pretty correct.

But the step on the Ferrari nose is quite steep. Thinking they've should have gone with an s-duct to maintain airflow above it.

Maybe they can scavenge a bit of ground effect with that nose.

Double tyre wake slots in the RW endplates & they retaind the trailing edge endplate fins.

maybe they have so much rear downforce that they need some pressure on the front

The paint job and how the black color swooshes around the bottom makes the nose look worse.

With this low nose tip concept they could go for much pretty solution!
Is there any benefit for low COG with this kind of shape?
