Lotus E22 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

So you can see the charge air coming into the intercooler in silver coating in pic 1. Is that then coming out in a similar slim ducting around the front of the rad before going in just behind the cockpit? It's missing in pic 2 but the others have the routing and the duct open.

Pic 1
Exhaust piping not installed
Charge air from turbo comes from below, not seen, enters the inter cooler (water air) on the floor
Charge air exits the inter cooler through the duct (which is in front of the fuel pressure pump) and enters the engine plenum

Like this I'm thinking.

Chester on 2015 and FRIC http://www.crash.net/f1/news/207043/1/l ... mpaign=rss: "...It looks quite promising, with some very distinctly different features from this year's car." "Noses are set to take on a fairly standard, low design. A change to the skids underneath the floor is quite significant. It's drawn attention because of the sparks that will be generated by the car, but it will also mean that the car needs to run higher."
"I'm sure we struggled with our qualifying pace because of [its removal],"Our race pace was better, but maybe that was because we were looking after our tyres well. "It's clear that we had a very developed FRIC or hydraulically linked suspension system, so we've got a lot more set-up work to do now to get the most out of the change."

No tusks :-(. Whatever happened to project of slimming them? They have problems with basics so it's understandable. Except "we suck but we try" they don't talk much of reasons.

Unless (perhaps) you're competent enough to design a whole car that wins multiple constructer's championships, you have no business calling any of the cars on the grid, even the backmarkers, "junk." As public figures, the Teams are and open to all kinds of criticism. But such totally disrespectful comments here - from posters not likely to be competent enough to engineer even a single piece on the car- are just an invitation to a flame war.

"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985
